Six Public Sidewalk Demands
to City and County of Honolulu

The City and County of Honolulu must immediately:

ONE: Quit police harassment of artist, activists and free speech practitioners in public spaces protected by Public Forum Constitutional rights.

TWO: Quit and revoke local "laws" and policies that violate UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights, U.S. First Amendment and U.S. Federal Court rulings. Local city and corporate ideas currently promote harassment and assault by Honolulu police. Revoke Operation Sidewalk Sweeper.

THREE: Fix sidewalk landscaping and paths to accommodate the "Replacement” of Public Forum on all sidewalks. Clearly define and advertise the zone so that free speech rights are honoured.

FOUR: Survey and mark property lines so that shady and illegal corporate land grabs are redressed. Secure that public lands remain owned and open for the public proper.

FIVE: Quit the back-door collaberations, the directions and recieving city "gifts" and partnerships with business and business associations especially Waikiki Improvement Association and Waikiki Business Improvement District.
Cease and correct the conspired business practices of "graduation". Graduation is the process whereby private business encroach on the intellectual and physical aspects of our public sidewalk.
We note that psychological marketing agenda that redesigns the sidewalk with corporate-designated tiles and landscaping which diminishes the public perception of the Public Forum while, at the same time increasing the perception of a privately controlled/owned commercial “mall” environment. This is happening with council collaberation in secrecy and without due-processand represents the giving away of public property that must be protected for future generations.

SIX: Show transparency to the public and disclose all sidewalk dealings. Specifically assemble and make public the city/corporate process that initiated, designed and funded the Kalakaua Avenue Sidewalk “Streetscape” Project of 2010 and show all related costs. Also provide a complete history of conveyance and processes for all property changes and landscaping to sidewalk designs where the private corporations bordering such sidewalks have been involved since the practice began in Honolulu.

Make free speech and artists welcome and respect them as a rightful and valuable asset.

A campaign of public importance by SaveWaikikiSidewalk.com

From 2011
Operation Sidewalk Sweeper
FREE SPEECH ON WAIKIKI SIDEWALKS IS SERIOUSLY UNDER ATTACK.

HOAX 'ORDINANCES' ARE CONSTRUED BY THE CITY and COMMUNITY AGENCIES. They are LEAD BY PRIVATE CORPORATE DEVELOPERS then WRONGFULLY "ENFORCED" BY HONOLULU POLICE DEPARTMENT and with DISCRIMINATION. HPD recieves "GIFTs" from WAIKIKI BUSINESS IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT-BID (a business association of Waikiki Improvement Association) which is STIPULATED to FUND HPD RAIDs on ARTISTs and VOICES!

A LONG STANDING POLICE HARRASSMENT OPERATION that is called-up AT TIMES is titled:
"OPERATION SIDEWALK SWEEPER"
THIS REPRESENTS THE CORPORATE/CITY ACTION TO SHUT DOWN ARTISTS AND FREE SPEECH - and thereby ULTIMATELY GRAB HOLD of the PUBLIC SIDEWALK as being THEIR PRIVATE SHOPPING and RESORT DISTRICT PROPERTY - a destination Mall.

THIS SUBVERSION SHOULD BE ALARMING TO EVERYONE! IT IS DRIVEN IN LARGE PART BY
WAIKIKI IMPROVEMENT ASSOCIATION
a private corporation of Waikiki developers and businesses that under-handedly directs city policy, infrastructure initiatives, and funding that defraud the public and our democratic security WIA and sister business association, BID represent TRANSNATIONAL HOSPITALITY and RESORT CORPORATIONS that are messed into the Globalization.
BID maintains regular "gifts" to Honolulu Police Department named for services to clean-up Waikiki sidewalks.
